Boies Schiller Flexner has hired a litigation partner into its London base, as it begins to rebuild its bench after losing most of its staff earlier in 2022.
Timothy L. Foden joins the London office as a partner in the international arbitration group from Lalive, according to the firm’s statement. He has expertise in investment disputes and commercial arbitration.
He was made a partner in 2018. Previously he had a four year stint at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, according to his LinkedIn profile.
The new addition comes just months after the firm’s former firmwide co-managing partner Natasha Harrison took the vast majority of the firm’s London lawyers and clients to launch a boutique litigation practice.
In January, Harrison moved across 14 lawyers, 13 support staff and around 100 clients and cases from the London office of Boies Schiller for the launch of her own firm—Pallas Partners.
“The opportunity to join a platform like Boies Schiller and to be part of the process of rebuilding in London was a compelling combination for me,” Foden said. “The arbitration team is incredibly strong, in the U.S., London, and Milan, and my clients and cases will complement those.”
A Lalive spokesperson thanked Foden for his contribution to the firm, “particularly in relation to our continued growth in London, which now comprises 3 partners and 19 associates”.
