Slaughter and May has promoted eight lawyers to partner across its Hong Kong and London offices, the firm announced on Wednesday.
According to a statement, Hong Kong corporate M&A duo Justin Chan and Vincent Chan join six London lawyers in the promotions round.
One woman, London disputes and investigations lawyer Megan Sandler, has been promoted as part of the group.
This year’s round is larger than that in 2021, where five London lawyers made the cut.
The firm now has 110 partners, 24% of which are women and 15% of which are based outside of London.
The remaining London lawyers to be promoted are corporate M&A lawyer Richard Hilton, financing lawyer Kevin Howes, tax lawyer Charles Osborne, pensions lawyer Chris Sharpe, and competition lawyer Jonathan Slade who will relocate to the firm’s Brussels office later in 2022.
Slaughters is the first of the elite U.K. firms to announce its 2022 promotions round.
Senior partner Steve Cooke said: “We are really pleased to announce the election of these new partners. Each has already established a strong track record of providing excellent advice to our clients and will make an important contribution to the continuing growth of our business.”
