Herbert Smith Freehills has appointed new joint managing partners for its employment, pensions and incentives (EPI) practice in Australia, Asia, U.S., U.K., Europe, and the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Steve Bell and Samantha Brown have taken on their new roles, with the former in charge of the Australia and Asia regions and the latter overseeing the practice in the U.S., U.K. and EMEA.
“Steve and Sam have already shown their strong leadership credentials heading up our teams in Australia and London, and are well-placed to jointly develop our market-leading global practice, building on our successes and driving the team forward in providing the best for our clients,” Ian Cox, executive partner of practices at Herbert Smith Freehills, said in a statement.
Brown has spent close to two decades at Herbert Smith Freehills, joining the firm in London in 2003. She has been leading the firm’s EPI practice in the U.K. since 2020.
“Over the coming period, labor relations will be at the heart of how our clients emerge from the pandemic, in addition to the important reputational and social issues associated with how they treat and support their workers,” said Bell, who has also spent his entire legal career with Herbert Smith Freehills.
He joined the firm in Melbourne in 2004 and was appointed head of the EPI practice in Australia in 2020.
