Clyde & Co has hired CMS’s co-head of construction in London.
Victoria Peckett joined CMS in 1994, and had been with the firm for 28 years, becoming a partner in 2002, according to her LinkedIn profile. She became co-head of the firm’s construction team in 2011.
She joins Clydes as a partner in its global projects & construction group, based in London.
During her eleven years heading up CMS’ construction team, Peckett worked extensively on international construction matters in sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.
She also has experience of assisting clients with the resolution of disputes, including through adjudication, arbitration, litigation and mediation.
In a statement, Victoria Peckett said: “Both domestic and international clients are increasingly facing inflation and capacity constraints and need to find innovative ways of dealing with these issues, with potential disputes emerging further down the line.”
She added: “Against the backdrop, clients are looking for collaborative, joined-up support from their legal providers—and that focus on collaboration is a core value I share with Clyde & Co.”
Peckett’s hire is the latest in a whirlwind September for partner moves. Earlier this month, Kirkland & Ellis hired A&O’s global infrastructure co-head Sara Pickersgill and CC’s infrastructure financing and restructuring specialist James Boswell.
A CMS spokesperson said: “We are wishing Victoria all the best in her new role.”
